How To Dispose Hazardous Waste?

Hazardous waste is hard to dispose of. It includes mobile & computer parts, electronic appliances, paint products, detergents, pesticides, etc. Improper disposal of these items may result in spillage of harmful substances in the environment. Such garbage has severe impacts on human life and the ecosystem. These types of garbage can easily catch fire, lead to explosions, and can pollute the groundwater if thrown directly in open land.

So, looking for the right ways to treat hazardous garbage?
Here are some ways you may find useful:
Make full use of resources
First of all, ensure the full and effective use of items having hazardous nature. This will reduce the need for disposal of such garbage. Store glass containers, house cleaning detergents well. There won’t be much spillage or wastage if you use products carefully. Handle electronic appliances like microwave, mixer, fridge, washing machines with care. This will increase their life expectancy. It will not only minimize wastage but also will save a good amount of money.
Donate
Donate as much as possible. You can donate old computers & laptops in good condition to underprivileged students in schools. These children’s families could not afford costly things so it will benefit them. Kitchen appliances like oven, mixers, and fridge can be given to those who find it useful. It will ensure the maximum use of electronic products and waste generation will be minimized.
Classify the garbage
The first step for proper disposal is to separate your hazardous junk from green scraps. Such classification ensures the safe disposal of hazardous junk at a further stage. Also, you should never mix two or more dangerous junk materials with each other. This may lead to severe reactions and might catch fire, explosions, etc.
Recycling
Used mobile phones, appliances, empty batteries, light bulbs & other similar electronics can be sent back to the vendor from whom you have purchased. These vendors will use the useful parts and dispose of the rest. Products in good condition can also be sold in the second-hand market. Used batteries can be recycled. This way garbage generation will be minimized. And, it will ensure proper disposal.
Ensure the right packing
It is necessary to make the right packing while sending hazardous materials to recyclers. When a fluorescent bulb, tube light breaks, small amounts of mercury are released in the atmosphere which is harmful. So, you have to pack the bulbs separately while giving it to recyclers. Also, put fever thermometers in sealable bags. Manufacturers should also do robust packaging while delivering delicate products like bulbs, televisions, glass, etc.
Conclusion:
If you still find treating hazardous substances is painful, then try to replace harmful products with non-harmful ones. Instead of using chemical house cleaners, use non-toxic things. This may include the use of baking soda, hot water, vinegar, and mild detergents.
In the case of agricultural activities, you can replace chemical fertilizers with useful natural compost. This is an eco-friendly and cost-saving way. You can use waste composting machines or organic waste composter machine-like Goldust to produce manure. It is a fully odorless, noiseless, and maintenance-free process.
