A Trash compactor is an equipment which reduces the size of
trash put into it. It is usually helpful to crush recyclable items like
plastic, aluminium. etc.
You can put all your inorganic trash like plastic containers, bottles,
cans, paper into it. Compacting your trash helps you to save space. It also
saves costs incurred in transportation of garbage.
Here are few steps which you should follow for smooth running of your
trash compactor
Check all the
nuts & bolts
Whenever you buy a new compactor, you have to make sure it is rightly
installed. You should check all the nuts and bolts attached to the compactor.
This check should be conducted every month. It will raise the life of the
machine.
Put right junk in
the machine
A compactor is used to decrease the size of plastic, aluminum, etc.
You cannot put any kind of green scraps, wood, glass or any explosive items in
it. Otherwise it will not only damage the machinery but can also seriously
injure someone.
Putting green scraps generates foul smells and creates a mess inside
the machine. Wood and glass cannot get compressed, it breaks. Small pieces of
it can get stuck inside the motor and it can fail. To ensure healthy running of
the machinery, put only compressible items in it.
Inspect metal
parts
Always check the metal parts of the compactor after a reasonable time.
If there is any wear and tear of metal parts, then overall life of the
machinery declines. Whenever you find any signs of metal fatigue, then get it
repaired as soon as possible. It will save you from huge costs that may arise
in future.
Check oil filters
It is necessary to inspect oil filters of the equipment every 3-6
months. Such checking helps to identify any need for replacement. Ensure the
oil levels of the oil reservoir while the cylinder is being retracted. Also,
change the oil filter installed in the machine after the first 50 hours &
every 250 hours subsequently. It is must because not replacing the oil filter
can damage the equipment.
Check electricity
units
The equipment operates using electricity therefore it is necessary to
keep the power unit clean and free from debris. Check each connection to save
from leakage. Also, check wiring regularly to protect the equipment from any
hazard.
Grease the doors
If your trash compactor is sounding more noisier and is taking more
time to perform than usual then it may require to be greased. The humidity and
liquids present in empty bottles thrown in the machine can affect its
performance. Therefore, time to time greasing is necessary for smooth running
of the equipment.
Conduct timely
maintenance
It is always advisable to inspect the compactor regularly from a
professional. Regular maintenance of the machinery improves machine performance
& efficiency. This boosts productivity, prevents downtime, and increases
the overall life expectancy of the machinery as well.
Conclusion :
All the steps mentioned above, ensures smooth operation of the composter machine. If you follow everything nicely, then it will surely increase the performance
of the machine to a certain extent.
